This is the poster for an upcoming documentary i’m shooting called “Voice Me”. The idea started as a film documenting teens struggles with depression and suicide and how it effected both them and their loved ones. But over the past year, it’s developed into a vehicle to spread the powerful and untold stories of youth. Teenagers have been depicted as irrelevant figures in society when in fact, teenagers have go through some of the most difficult struggles and end up with the most powerful stories. My new vision for this documentary is to obtain interviews from teenagers not only from my school but from around the world about what they’ve been through whether it be experiences with, but not limited to: attempted suicide, loss of a friend to suicide, abuse, bullying, eating disorders, self harm and self mutilation, self image and self consciousness, and depression.
The documentary will be separated into a 10+ part series with new episodes uploaded every two - three weeks. If it gains enough popularity, i’ll be shooting and compiling a feature length version at the end of the series to submit to various film festivals.
